This was a free event at Brickbat Books off South Street in Philly. Michael DeForge is an illustrator that was hyping his book Sticks Angelica Folk Hero. He had a slideshow of random short story comics that were just hilarious. Some were about healthy living and how you can deduct points / add points to your life by participating in certain activities. He signed copies of his book after the show. Joining Michael was our girl Sadie Dupuis of Sad13 and Speedy Ortiz. She set up her colorful equipment (her guitar was decorated with gems, "Sad Ghost" in gold letters) and played about four songs: two were new Speedy Ortiz songs and the other two were off Sad13's Slugger. We could not pogo jump if she played "Hype" this time since it was seated but it was a treat to see her again. My friend and I joke we have seen her almost once a month going back in late October. Will she get sick of seeing us? NEVER! *devil horned grin*
